GHK Motors yesterday hosted a banquet dinner for all presidents of Asean Mitsubishi distributors and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) at the Sumbangsih Bahagia hall to celebrate the conclusion of Mitsubishi's Asean Distributors Meeting (ADM).
Director of the GHK Group, Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh King Chin, who hosted a night of entertainment for the Asean guests, opened his speech by saying that they were honoured to have with them an important guest in Osamu Masuko, the corporation's president.
"This year, we are very honoured to be given Brunei as a venue for the ADM 2011," he said.
Pehin Dato Goh said in his speech that GHK Motors has been the sole Mitsubishi franchise holder in Brunei since 1979 and with the good support received from MMC and its quality products, it has helped GHK to diversify to other core motor business such as Daihatsu Motors; and Daha Auto, the sole distributor of Chevrolet and Chrysler franchise.
"Other related businesses also include MBA Insurance, which provides general insurance and GHK Auto Assembly. We are the first in Brunei for the fabrication of MPV vehicles, such as 45-seater buses, panel vans, cool boxes for trucks, water tankers, and so on," he said.
Pehin Dato Goh also went on to recall the time when Masuko took over as president of the corporation in october 2007.
"Among other things, Masuko-san introduced many changes and restructured its management and turned MMC into a profitable organisation," he said, while congratulating the president.
"We, as distributors are indeed most happy and proud of his achievements," the GHK Group director added.
Pehin Dato Goh wished the Asean distributors a good and memorable stay in Brunei, and hoped that they have a safe journey home today.
